Robert Freitag is Executive Director of the Cascadia Region Earthquake Workgroup (CREW) and Director of the Institute for Hazards Mitigation Planning & Research at the University of Washington. He was employed with the Federal Emergency Management Agency as Federal Coordinating, Public Assistance and Hazards Mitigation Officers, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of State Floodplain Managers. He earned his Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Washington
Susan Bolton is a professor at the University of Washington in the School of Forest Resources in the College of the Environment. She is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Global Health. She is the former Director of the Center for Streamside Studies (now The Water Center). She received her PhD and MSCE in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University, an M.S. in Zoology from North Dakota State University and a B.S. in Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado. She is a Registered Professional Engineer.
Frank Westerlund was the Chair of Urban Design Planning Department at the University of Washington. He is a Co-Investigator with PRISM (Puget Sound Regional Synthesis Model), and Co-Director of the PRISM Human Dimensions Group and team leader PRISM remote sensing/land cover inventory and monitoring group. He earned his PhD and Master of Urban Planning degrees from the Washington of Washington and B.A. in Architecture from Stanford University
Julie Clark is a freelance writer in the area of natural hazard topics and has written award-winning earthquake publications. She was Earth Science Information Officer with the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries, Managing Editor and contributor for scientific journal Oregon Geology. She holds a MS and BS in Geology from Portland State and is currently working on a nonfiction book: Five Disasters that will Change American.
